On November 7th and 8th, all the partners of the Green Sport Hub Europe met in London for the 6th collective meeting of the project.
Hosted by ukactive, these two days of workshops were the opportunity to take a number of decisions to move the project forward and to discuss the next steps together 💡 🌍.
In particular, the two-day meeting allowed partners to discuss the dissemination of the evaluation tool and plan a series of tests with partners and expert evaluators by the end of 2022.
But planning for 2023 -which will be the final year of the project- also took place.
Capacity-building events for sport organisers to understand how they can improve their ability to deliver their respective events in a ‘greener’ way were discussed. Those events will be organized by the GSHE sports partners during the first semester of 2023.
Moreover, in the first quarter of 2023, the partners will be addressing the recommendation for policymakers and sports governing bodies to strengthen the governing aspect of their respective sustainability policies.
In attendance -online or offline were representatives from Surfrider Foundation Europe (France) ; ACR+ | Association of Cities and Regions for sustainable Resource management (Belgium) ; Confederacao do Desporto de Portugal (Portugal) ; ukactive (United Kingdom) ; Green Cycling Norway (Norway) ;Olympic Committee of Slovenia (Slovenia) ; Confédération Européenne de Volleyball (CEV) (Luxembourg) ; Rugby Europe (France) ; European Athletics (Switzerland) ; EUSA – European University Sports Association (Slovenia).
